Period Hairdressing Lecture and Workshop, Sunday
Taught by Stacy Hampton

Stacy's display of original combs and hair pins and models heads with elaborate styles copied from fashion illustrations. (lamps on the table are original camphene lamps)

Closeup of display, showing period hairpins that are remarkably similar in appearance to the faux tortoiseshell plastic ones we can buy nowadays. Display also showed the difference between combs of our era and later celluloid ones.

Stacy working on hairstyle for Kathleen Jackson,
of the Eno Soldiers' Relief Society, AGSAS's sister group in North Carolina.

Finished hairstyle, showing old fashioned 1840s "Y" part, in keeping with period images showing North Carolina women wearing out of date fashions.

More combs on display

BobDog got a hairdo too! (not documented!!)
